Tech Co. Pushes STEM Summer Camps, Giving Students a Jumpstart for School

inBusiness PHX

GenTech, a community tech hub, encourages parents to use the final two weeks of summer to give their kids a jumpstart for school with STEM-focused summer camps in North Phoenix and Peoria that will develop technical skills for kids as young as five-years-old.
The last four camps available this summer: Radical Robots, Gadget Gurus, Rocket Science, and Drone Discovery, which will teach kids to build and fly drones through obstacle courses, similar to what they might have seen on the Fourth of July.
“Under expert guidance, kids can learn to build and program robots to navigate mazes, use a 3D printer to build rockets and launch them outside, and learn how to operate smart home technologies,” said Michael Wilson, COO of GenTech. “We provide students with materials like robots, computers, and tech devices to develop skills relevant to industries that are expanding rapidly such as cyber security, robotics, and software engineering.”
Camps take place Monday through Friday, July 15-19 and July 22-26. Morning camps are from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., afternoon camps are from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. and all-day camps are from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Parents can register for one or both camps, to be held at GenTech, 402 E Greenway Parkway Phoenix, and Pure Heart Church, 7569 W Greenway Rd Peoria.
GenTech’s award-winning KidsTech programs teach industry-standard coding, robotics, and computer science at the GenTech store and in over 300 classrooms and community centers throughout Arizona. GenTech is actively seeking sponsors to provide access to its programs to more students across the state.
