Tucson after5 Tech Mixer: Hosted by SARSEF

Register

Join us September 20 at the next after5 tech mixer hosted by Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF). Learn how SARSEF is helping develop Arizona’s next generation of problem-solvers and critical thinkers. Attendees will tour SARSEF’s home base at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona and partake in hands-on STEM activities to see how the organization uses its students’ natural curiosity about subjects they care about to fuel their interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Students use the skills they learn to solve problems, develop creative solutions, and discover future careers in STEM fields.

SARSEF’s mission is creating Arizona’s future critical thinkers and problem solvers through science and engineering.

Children don’t have to wait to become scientists or engineers. With curiosity as their guide, they can start asking questions they care about and use science and engineering to find solutions that are meaningful to them, and even, the world.

Through this exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), students gain critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are important for whatever career they choose.

We foster communities of support for students in STEM by building the confidence and toolboxes of some of their greatest advocates – teachers and caregivers. Our educators travel to schools and community centers throughout the state to provide student outreach, teacher professional development, and parent workshops at no cost to Title I schools.
